The manga Watashi ga Hitori de Ikiteku Nante by Harono Haru, currently serialized in Comic DAYS, is being adapted into a live-action drama series. The show will star Yabuki Nako and Iijima Hiroki as co-leads, premiering on CBC TV in its “Drama Trip” programming block every Thursday at 24:58, beginning October 29, 2026.
Story
The series follows Takada Mana, a woman who quit her job to become a full-time housewife after marriage, only to be blindsided when her husband suddenly demands a divorce. With no work experience or financial independence to fall back on, Mana hits rock bottom and must rebuild her life from scratch. Her encounter with Kishimoto Ryo, a sharp-tongued but perceptive young tax accountant who runs his own firm, becomes the catalyst for her journey toward self-reliance — while the slow-burn romance between these two opposites adds another layer to the story. The manga has been collected into eight volumes to date.
Cast
- Yabuki Nako — Takada Mana

Comments
Harono Haru (Original Author)
I was both surprised and overjoyed when I first heard about the adaptation. I never imagined Mana and Kishimoto coming to life in three dimensions. My works are like precious children to me, and knowing they can be born into the world in a new form thanks to so many people’s efforts is the greatest happiness. I am sincerely grateful to every reader and everyone involved in making this happen.
Yabuki Nako (as Takada Mana)
When I heard I’d been cast, I was filled with excitement and joy. Reading the script has given me a lot of time to reflect on both Mana and myself. I believe playing this role will help me grow as an actor and as a person. It’s my first time as a co-lead, so I’m a little nervous, but I plan to give it everything I have and help create a great atmosphere on set. I hope viewers will cheer Mana on as she stumbles, grows, and learns to stand on her own two feet.
Iijima Hiroki (as Kishimoto Ryo)
I was completely absorbed in the world of the story the moment I read the script. The pacing is excellent and the characters’ ages feel close to my own, which makes it very relatable. Kishimoto is a talented young tax accountant who runs his own business — a realist through and through. I hope viewers find courage in watching a woman choose to live life on her own terms, and that this drama brings a little warmth and excitement to everyone’s busy autumn.
