The official YouTube channel for Takara Tomy’s PuniRunes toy line launched a promotional video on Saturday for the fourth season of its anime series, PuniRunes Puni 4.
New Characters and Cast
Alongside the promo video, the production team announced that female comedy duo Ganbareruya will voice two new characters: Sanrun and Tsukurun. The duo are also taking on the role of “cheer captains” for the new season.
Broadcast History
The anime’s third season premiered in July 2025. The first season aired on TV Tokyo and TV Osaka from October 2022 to March 2023, with the second season following in October 2024.
Spin Master, which distributes the toy line in the United States, began streaming the anime on YouTube in September 2024.
About PuniRunes
Unlike conventional digital pets, PuniRunes toys feature a hole that lets players insert a finger to physically “pet” the soft creature inside. The anime follows the everyday adventures of the PuniRunes — mysterious creatures who love being coddled — alongside Yuka, a fourth-grade girl with a passion for all things soft and squishy. (Puni-puni is the Japanese onomatopoeic word for soft and squishy.)
