The Pokémon Company officially announced a new anime film for the franchise on Monday: Pokémon: Wild Card. The film is set to open in 2027, with CloverWorks handling animation production.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco.

Story

The 24th Pokémon Film
The film marks the 24th anime film in the Pokémon franchise and the first since Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle (Gekijōban Pocket Monster Koko), which opened in Japan in December 2020. Netflix began streaming that film in October 2021.
