Preview stills and story details have been unveiled for Narumi no Heijitsu (鳴海の平日), an original short anime series spun off from the Kaiju No. 8 anime, itself based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto.

Episode 1 Synopsis: “Day 1 — The Squad Leaders’ True Feelings”

The four-episode series kicks off with Narumi Gen slacking off at a family restaurant, only to find himself eavesdropping on a nearby table where the squad leaders of the 1st Division have sat down. As he listens in, he suddenly hears his own name come up in their conversation…

The story concepts for the series were developed by Kizuki Watanabe, who currently serialises the spinoff manga Kaiju No. 8 RELAX in Saikyo Jump (Shueisha).
