โลโก้ครบรอบ 55 ปี Panda! Go, Panda! แสดงภาพ Papanda, Mimiko และ Pan-chan โผล่หน้าจากประตู

The animated film Panda! Go, Panda! will mark the 55th anniversary of its theatrical release in 2027, with its sequel Panda! Go, Panda!: Rainy Day Circus following suit in 2028. To celebrate, an official “55th Anniversary Project” has been launched, kicking off on October 1, 2026, and running through 2028.

Both films were directed by Takahata Isao, with Miyazaki Hayao serving as original story writer, screenwriter, and scene designer. The newly unveiled 55th anniversary logo takes its design cue from a beloved scene in the film, depicting Papanda, Mimiko, and Pan-chan peeking out from behind a door.

Pop-Up Event: “Panda! Go, Panda! Book Circus”

The first initiative under the project is a pop-up event titled “Panda! Go, Panda! Book Circus,” set to tour major bookstores across Japan on the following schedule:

  • Maruzen Marunouchi Honten (Tokyo): October 8 – November 3, 2026
  • MARUZEN & Junkudo Umeda (Osaka): October 8 – November 1, 2026
  • Maruzen Hakata (Fukuoka): November 11–29, 2026
  • MARUZEN & Junkudo Sapporo (Hokkaido): November 11–29, 2026

Exclusive merchandise will be available at each venue. Additionally, M&C Cafe Marunouchi Oazo, located inside the Tokyo venue, will offer a special menu item inspired by the curry rice that appears in the film.

Lawson Collaboration

A collaboration with convenience store chain Lawson has also been confirmed. Co-branded goods featuring Lawson’s signature blue color scheme will go on sale at the book corners of Lawson stores nationwide starting October 8, 2026. Exclusive stickers will also be available through Lawson Print, the chain’s in-store multi-copy machine service. Full details of the collaboration are set to be announced on October 1 via the Lawson Kenkyujo information website.

First Wave of 55th Anniversary Merchandise

A first batch of commemorative goods has also been revealed, including:

  • A plush mascot of Tora-chan in a seated pose

The 55th Anniversary Project promises a steady stream of new activities and products leading up to 2028, celebrating two films that have remained beloved classics for generations of fans.
