To celebrate the 30th anniversary of TV anime Mobile New Century Gundam X (機動新世紀ガンダムX), a special commemorative project titled “Gundam X Is Always There” (『ガンダムX』はいつもそこにある) has officially launched, bringing two fan-focused campaigns to mark the milestone.
About Mobile New Century Gundam X
Mobile New Century Gundam X first aired on April 5, 1996, as the third entry in the Gundam “Alternative Series” — stories set in universes entirely separate from the Universal Century timeline. The series follows the crew of the Vulture ship Freeden as they navigate a world devastated by a catastrophic “Colony Drop,” with the looming threat of another world war on the horizon.
Central to the story is the growth of protagonist Garrod Ran, who fights to protect the mysterious Tiffa Adill, while the Freeden clashes with both the New Earth Federation and the Space Revolutionary Army. The series also explores the concept of Newtypes — humans who have evolved beyond ordinary limits. It was further distinguished by a wide array of inventively designed Mobile Suits, including the Gundam X and Gundam DX.
39 Episode-Themed Posters Displayed Nationwide
Beginning September 14, 2026, a set of 39 unique posters — one for each episode of the TV series — will be displayed at Gundam-related venues across Japan. Each poster features memorable scenes and characters from its respective episode, giving fans a chance to relive their favorite moments.
Locations will be announced gradually via the official Gundam X account on X (formerly Twitter). Note that the display period may end without prior notice.
X Giveaway: Win a Special Mini Poster
Alongside the poster rollout, a giveaway campaign is running on X, offering 30 lucky fans a chance to win one of three exclusive mini poster designs. The artwork is drawn from the newly illustrated Mobile New Century Gundam X: Records Collection A.W. 30th Chronicle, with 10 winners per design.
