September 9 has been officially recognized as “Attack on Titan Day” by the Japan Anniversary Association, commemorating the date in 2009 when the manga first launched in the debut issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine (Kodansha). To mark the occasion, the franchise rolled out a sweeping set of 99 major announcements all at once.

Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人), created by Hajime Isayama, ran from 2009 to 2021 and has surpassed 140 million copies in cumulative worldwide circulation.
