The TV drama Dekiai Kareshi no Tsukurikata ~Se kara Honmei ni Naru Onnanoko no Hanashi~ (How to Make a Doting Boyfriend), based on the original work by Zakuzakuro, has released its main visual and announced three new cast members.
Story & Lead Cast
The series follows Sakura, a young office worker struggling with a friends-with-benefits-like relationship with her colleague Keisuke, as she fights to turn him into her ideal devoted boyfriend. The main visual depicts Sakura trapping Keisuke inside a television set as part of her plan.

Babazono Azusa (Voice of Zaku)
I’m so happy to have been asked to voice Zaku the love fairy. Interestingly, despite being a fairy, Zaku speaks in the Shiga dialect! I speak Osaka dialect, and there are quite a few words where the accent differs, so I’ll work hard to get it right. Even though it’s a voice role, I’ve been going to the set to interact with the cast in person. I hope everyone enjoys the show.
Yamashita Rio (as Shuri)
I found myself swooning as I read the script for Sakura and Keisuke’s clumsy love story. Shuri, the ex-girlfriend I’m playing, is like the eye of a storm in Keisuke’s life — instinctive yet calculating, and somehow elusive. I nearly got swept away by her myself. Working with the staff to figure her out has been a lot of fun. I think Zaku’s sharp-tongued love advice will resonate with anyone who has ever been in love. Please enjoy it on those long autumn nights.
Hashimoto Wataru (as Okuma Sho)
When I found out I’d been cast, I felt joy, surprise, and pressure all at once — I let out a sound I’d never heard myself make before! Sho is a quintessential Reiwa-era guy who is the polar opposite of Nomura Shuhei’s Keisuke, and I’m both challenged and excited to portray him. Beyond the romantic tension between Sakura and Keisuke, I hope you’ll also enjoy watching how Sho’s arrival shakes things up!

The series premieres on October 7, 2026 on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TV Hokkaido, airing every Wednesday at 24:30 (first episode at 24:45).
U-NEXT will stream each episode one week early in an exclusive window starting September 30, 2026 at 21:00. The drama will also be available on TVer, the TV Tokyo website (Net mo Tele-to), and Lemino.
