Bandai Namco Filmworks has officially announced that Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO (pronounced “Alex Zero”) will begin broadcasting as a TV anime in April 2027. The official website has also published an interview with director and series composer Kenji Kamiyama.
Part of the New “RG Project” Media Mix
The series is part of a new multimedia initiative called the “RG Project,” sharing its universe with the action game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT. The anime is set approximately 100 years before the events of that game, in an era when a mysterious ecosystem that once granted humanity three great boons — gravity control, faster-than-light communication, and matter-creation technology — begins to spiral out of control, ultimately forcing humanity to abandon Earth.
The protagonist is Azumi Rey, a boy who awakens alone on the surface of the Moon. He will be voiced by Takehiro Otsuka. Animation production is handled by SOLA ANIMATION.

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Launches March 5, 2027
Alongside the anime announcement, it was confirmed that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will launch on March 5, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Attendees at Tokyo Game Show 2026 will have the world’s first opportunity to play a demo of the game.
