The summer 2026 anime Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers (鎧真伝サムライトルーパー) aired its second cour’s Episode 23, titled “Shin,” on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The episode delivered a string of jaw-dropping revelations and the long-awaited united assault that fans had been dreaming of since the series began.
The True Final Boss: Yatogojin Descends
With the battle against the Tendokai down to its last enemy, Inmei found himself on the back foot against the Samurai Troopers. Unable to deliver the true Overlord Armor to Yatogojin as planned, he sacrificed his own body as a vessel, allowing Yatogojin to resurrect. The reborn god of destruction immediately unleashed overwhelming power on the human world. Viewers on X erupted: “So Yatogojin is the real final boss,” “He’s here,” and “I didn’t expect his true form to look like this.”
Yatogojin then revealed his backstory: gods who feared him tore him into four pieces, which became the four beast warriors, while his own memories were sealed and his form changed into a dragon. Inmei, originally a fragment of Yatogojin, had rebelled against Sagume after a portion of Yatogojin’s memories was restored within him.
Gai’s True Parentage — Another Shocking Twist
During Gai’s direct confrontation with Yatogojin, the god revealed that the Overlord Armor was created for him alone and that its current wielder had not drawn out its true potential. More staggeringly, Yatogojin declared himself Gai’s biological father — not Ramaga as previously believed. Sagume had been able to wield Yatogojin’s power because of her bond with him. Fans reacted with disbelief — “Wait, what?”, “He’s not Ramaga’s son?!” — though some had suspected it all along: “Called it! He was always Yatogojin’s son!” The revelation also prompted a new question: “Then why could Sasuke use the Overlord Armor?”
Hakuen Returns — A Welcome Sight for Long-Time Fans
Back in the human world, Ryo and the original Samurai Troopers completed the evacuation of civilians but could not travel to Tendokai themselves, as only the baptized may enter. They placed all their hope in Hakuen (白炎), the sacred beast and a key character from the original Yoroi-den Samurai Troopers series, sending him ahead as their sole representative. Veteran fans were overjoyed: “Hakuen! It’s been so long!”, “How many episodes has it been?!” Meanwhile, eagle-eyed viewers noticed that Seiji (光輪のセイジ) was using the first-person pronoun 「俺」(ore) rather than the 「私」(watashi) that had become his established identity over the years, sparking debate among fans.
The Juyushi Rise Again — A 15-Hero United Front
When Gai lost consciousness during the struggle against Yatogojin, something extraordinary happened: the Ten Brave Warriors (十勇士 / Juyushi) dwelling within him awakened through sheer force of will, erecting a magical barrier to protect the Samurai Troopers. They then manifested in physical form, declaring “We’ll lend you our strength!” — all ten warriors, both the given-name group and the surname group, standing side by side with the five Samurai Troopers for a full 15-person combined assault.
The response online was electric: “The Juyushi are all here!”, “I’ve waited so long for a Samurai Troopers and Juyushi team-up!”, “Is this kind of alliance even allowed?! Absolutely it is!!!!” A ten-hit chain of combined special moves sent fans into a frenzy: “A mixed special-move barrage from the Samurai Troopers and Juyushi — this is the best thing ever!”
The combined power finally awakened the Overlord Armor to its true golden radiance, and the stage was set for a full-power clash with a now fully serious Yatogojin.
Episode 24 is titled “Gai.” The outcome of Gai’s ultimate showdown with Yatogojin awaits.
