Fans of both series, get ready! Studio Production I.G has announced a special collaboration project — Rilakkuma × Haikyu!! — uniting the worlds of the Rilakkuma and Haikyu!! anime. The collab will feature pop-up stores in five cities across Japan, along with a range of exclusive merchandise.
About the Two Series
Rilakkuma is San-X’s beloved healing character, originally designed by illustrator Kondou Aki. The anime currently airs every Saturday at 9:25 a.m. on TBS.
Haikyu!! is the landmark sports manga by Furudate Haruichi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) since February 2012. The story follows passionate high school volleyball players, and the franchise continues to grow — a new theatrical film, Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant, and a special anime, Haikyu!! Baketono-tachi no Yukutokoro, have both been announced.
Crucially, both works are produced by the same studio — Production I.G — making this crossover a natural, if still exciting, dream come true.
12 Newly Drawn Collaboration Visuals
Alongside the announcement, Production I.G has unveiled 12 specially drawn collaboration visuals. Each image depicts characters from teams including Karasuno, Aoba Johsai, Nekoma, Fukurodani, and Inarizaki cozying up with Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, and their friends in warm, charming scenes. A dedicated special website has also launched to keep fans updated on all collab news.
Pop-Up Stores at baseyard tokyo
The Rilakkuma × Haikyu!! POP UP STORE will tour baseyard tokyo locations across five cities on the following schedule:
- November 20 – December 6, 2026
- Tokyo: baseyard tokyo Harajuku
- Osaka: baseyard tokyo Abeno Q’s Mall
- December 18, 2026 – January 17, 2027
- Sapporo: baseyard tokyo Sapporo Stellar Place
- Kyoto: baseyard tokyo Kawaramachi OPA
- Hiroshima: baseyard tokyo Minamoa Hiroshima
Merchandise and Lottery
The first wave of pop-up store goods includes fan-favorite items such as trading can badges, acrylic stands, pouches, and socks — all fitting perfectly with Rilakkuma’s cozy aesthetic. Full product details are available on the collab’s special website.
From January 23, 2027, a collaboration lottery (collab kuji) will also go on sale. Additionally, Card Soft Cookies featuring the collab visuals will be released in January 2027.
Pre-orders for the Card Soft Cookies opened on September 24 at 1:00 p.m. via Bandai’s official shopping site Premium Bandai and other participating online retailers.
