Volume 1 of 皇帝陛下のあたため係 ～冷血白蛇陛下は田舎娘のぬくもりをご所望です!?～ (Kōtei Heika no Atatame-gakari: The Cold-Blooded White Serpent Emperor Desires the Warmth of a Country Girl!?) went on sale on October 2, 2026, published by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha.
The manga is based on the original novel by Koharu Mori, with art by Momona Natane and Matsuki.
Story
A country girl named Kikka ends up living in the imperial inner palace — a residence for candidates vying to become the emperor’s consort — lured in by the promise of comfortable living conditions. With no ambitions for power or status, she keeps a deliberately low profile. That all changes one night when she is suddenly summoned to a room and finds herself pulled into the bed of a strikingly handsome young man.
The man turns out to be none other than the Emperor himself — a white-serpent beastman (hakuja jūjin) who is unusually sensitive to the cold. He tells Kikka she is his benefactor, and, citing the simple reason that he is cold, officially appoints her as his personal “warming officer” (atatame-gakari).
The series is described as a Chinese-style love fantasy following the unlikely bond between a cold-sensitive white-serpent emperor and a solitary country girl with no family to call her own.
