The ongoing talk event series 「井上俊之の作画殿堂」(Inoue Toshiyuki no Sakuga Dendo) is set to hold its 8th installment on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Cinema City Cinema Two C Studio in Tachikawa, Tokyo. The session is subtitled “Talking with Hanabushi and Mori Keisuke — The World of Animation Drawing from Toei Long Films to the Present.”
About the Series
「井上俊之の作画殿堂」is a talk event conceived by Inoue Toshiyuki, a leading-edge animator known for his work on The Boy and the Heron and Look Back. Each session takes a work or artist that Inoue considers worthy of “hall-of-fame” recognition as its starting point for in-depth conversation.
Guest Animators
This edition welcomes two guests with strong ties to Toei Animation:
- Hanabushi — known for directing animated music videos for the band Zutomayo (ずっと真夜中でいいのに。)
- Mori Keisuke — character designer and animation director on ONE PIECE FAN LETTER
Together with Inoue, the two guests will trace the lineage of Toei’s long-form animated films and discuss how that tradition continues to shape contemporary animation craft.
