The production team behind the upcoming anime TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子- has released the synopsis and preview stills for Episode 1, which is set to air on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
About the Series
TANK CHAIR is adapted from the manga by Manabu Yashiro, serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius. The series has surpassed one million copies in worldwide circulation and is described as a violent dark-hero action story centered on an extraordinary bond between siblings.
The anime is co-directed by Naohiro “Tady” Yoshihira (also serving as series composer and scriptwriter) and Hiroaki Ando (also scriptwriter), with animation production handled by Polygon Pictures.
Episode 1 Synopsis
Once the most feared assassin alive, Nagi Taira now sits in a wheelchair, having fallen into an unconscious state after throwing himself in front of a bullet to protect his younger sister. The condition for his awakening: being on the receiving end of genuine killing intent.
His sister, Shizuka Taira, works as a broker for assassins. She takes on contracts and wheels Nagi into battle under the guise of “rehabilitation,” believing that a sufficiently powerful killing intent directed at him will bring about his full awakening.
In Episode 1, Shizuka accepts a contract to eliminate Goro Arashiyama, the brutal boss of a violent gang — hoping the confrontation will be the spark that finally wakes Nagi up completely.
