The top article on Comic Natalie for the week of October 1–7, 2026 was the announcement of Obocchamakun REBORN, a brand-new anime based on Yoshinori Kobayashi‘s classic manga series.
Obocchamakun REBORN Confirmed for 2027
The new series is set to air on the TV Asahi network in 2027. In addition to adapting manga story arcs that were never animated in the original run, the show will feature a number of original stories developed under the full supervision of creator Kobayashi himself. Tomoe Kamishiro, who voiced protagonist Gobo Chama in the original anime, is returning to reprise the role.
Featured Interviews and Columns
Among the week’s special features was a relay-style interview with four cast members of the TV anime Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki. (My Uncle Loves Cute Things): Kazuyuki Okitsu, Takuya Eguchi, Yuki Kaji, and Ayumu Murase. The four actors discussed their approaches to their roles and behind-the-scenes recording anecdotes, and each answered the relay question of what their own “cutest quality” is.
Natalie also ran an interview with manga artist and illustrator Keiichi Arai, the creator of Nyatalie and Nyorori — the original mascot characters made for Natalie’s 20th anniversary. Arai spoke about the experience of designing the characters and how personal passion drives his creative work.
The second installment of the ongoing column Ouen Joei no Genzaichi (The Current State of Participatory Screenings) featured an interview with producers of Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu, revealing the behind-the-scenes story of how the iconic Miracle Light prop was brought back and what it means to the team.
