The production team behind Tokyo Revengers: Santen Sensou-hen — the fourth season of the hit anime — has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 52, “Be left behind the times,” set to air on Friday, October 9, 2026.
About Tokyo Revengers
Tokyo Revengers is based on the time-leap suspense manga Tokyo Manji Revengers by Ken Wakui, serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2017 to 2022. The series won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category. The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a down-and-out former delinquent whose glory days ended in middle school. When he learns that his one and only girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, has been killed, he is flung 12 years into the past and sets out to save her — and to become someone who no longer runs away.
Season 1 (2021) covered the “8·3 Kousen” and “Blood Halloween” arcs, followed by Season 2 “Seiya Kessen-hen” (January–April 2023) and Season 3 “Tenjiku-hen” (October–December 2023). The franchise has also expanded into live-action films and stage productions.
Santen Sensou-hen: Season 4
In Santen Sensou-hen, the brutal clash between Tokyo Manji-kai and Tenjiku comes to a devastating close. As everyone carries their grief forward, Takemichi finds himself in awe of the fallen Tetta Kisaki, while Manjiro Sano (Mikey) makes a fateful decision after hearing the full account of Takemichi’s time-leaping. When Takemichi finally leaves the past behind and leaps forward, he arrives at the best possible future — one where Hinata is alive. But he is not there.
In a world now defined by a three-way power struggle known as the “Santen era,” Takemichi’s final revenge begins.
Episode 52 Synopsis: “Be left behind the times”
With Tokyo Manji-kai officially disbanded, Takemichi prepares to return to the present. Before he goes, he finally delivers a Valentine’s Day gift to Hinata — and the gesture unexpectedly turns into a marriage proposal that jumps 12 years ahead of its time.
After burying a time capsule with his fellow members and promising to reunite 12 years later, Takemichi makes his leap in peak condition. He arrives in a world where every comrade he fought alongside is living happily.
But Mikey is nowhere to be found.
