The TV anime Shishite Ikiru SSS-kyū Hunter (死して生きるSSS級ハンター) has released its second promotional video, along with announcements of additional cast members and confirmation that THE SPELLBOUND × BOOM BOOM SATELLITES will handle the ending theme.

About the Series

Based on a Korean novel and SMARTOON, the series is set in a world where mysterious “towers” have suddenly appeared. Kim Kongja (CV: Otsuka Takeo), an F-rank hunter who failed to awaken any skills, falls into despair after being betrayed by Ente (炎帝), the world’s top-ranked hunter. However, he acquires a cheat skill ranked S+: “Revert to 24 hours before death” — triggered by his own demise. Armed with this power and his partner Kente (剣帝, CV: Hino Satoshi), Kongja sets out to forge a new legend.

Second PV Debuts at New York Comic Con 2026

The second PV made its world premiere at New York Comic Con 2026 in New York City on October 10 (local time), during a special advance screening event hosted by Crunchyroll. The video traces Kongja’s journey from despair to determination and features the first appearances of several key characters, including Kensei (剣聖, CV: Sakino Shunsuke), the former No. 1-ranked hunter.

THE SPELLBOUND × BOOM BOOM SATELLITES will perform the ending theme. The artists shared their concept for the song:

“Death is not an end, but a starting point toward the next version of yourself. No matter how many times you lose, you keep choosing to live better. We packed into this song the impulse to break through even a predetermined fate and seize the future. We hope listeners enjoy the exhilarating, uplifting energy of Shishite Ikiru SSS-kyū Hunter together with our music.”

Cast Comments

Masuda Toshiki (as 炎帝)

Ente makes a powerful impression right from the start of the story. I enjoyed playing him because his twisted personality isn’t entirely unlike my own. Roles that demand this kind of speed and decisiveness don’t come along often, so I gave it everything I had. I hope they kept that one ad-lib in.

Han Megumi (as 黒色魔女)

I want to convey her resolve as both a Guild Master and the No. 2-ranked hunter, and I’m curious to see what she discovers through her encounters with Kongja. The recording sessions are always lively and fun — everyone is wonderful.

Kinoshita Sayaka (as 聖騎士)

He has a commanding, reliable presence and strength, yet remains gentle and modest. I’m trying to preserve that unique atmosphere. The skill-based battles and psychological warfare are so much fun — keep an eye on Seikishi’s skills too!

Shimizu Risa (as 伯爵)

She’s a wealthy Guild Master with a generous heart and elegance. She also occasionally transforms into a cat, so watch out for that gap! The scheming and negotiations among the colorful cast make the dialogue scenes a real highlight.

Furukawa Makoto (as 毒蛇)

He erupts in anger when dragged into things, furrows his brow when forced to think rationally, and shouts again when a brawl breaks out. That’s the impression I get from Dokuheba. I hope to bring some lively energy to the scenes around the main party, even if with a sharp edge.

Fujiwara Natsumi (as 異端審問官)

Reading his profile made me both nervous and intrigued — it’s a rare type of role for me. I was quite tense recording it, but I had a great time. Please enjoy the story that unfolds around Kongja and this cast of strong personalities.

Iguchi Yuka (as 錬金省主)

She’s an earnest, hardworking, and adorable woman who gets noticeably fast-talking when she’s passionate about something she loves. I had so much fun playing her. On a personal note, I’m a huge fan of Director Sakurai Hiroaki’s work and atmosphere, so it’s a great honor to collaborate again. I hope the fun energy on set comes through in the finished product!

Sakino Shunsuke (as 剣聖)

Marcus Kahlenberg — known as Kensei — is a master swordsman who walks his own path: stubborn, cold, and unapproachable, possessing just about every negative interpersonal trait you can think of. But he has an unexpectedly endearing side too. Look forward to it.
