Story Overview

Fran is a young Black Cat beastgirl who was once enslaved by a being known only as “Nanashi.” Her life changed when she encountered an intelligent weapon — a sentient sword she calls Shishou (Master) — and became his wielder. Joining the adventurers’ guild in the fortress city of Alessa, Fran takes on quests and builds her reputation, all while chasing her dream of “Evolution” — the pinnacle of strength. Shishou, ever the doting guardian, sets their next destination as the port town of Darz.

Along the way, the pair discovers a floating island in the sky and encounters Jean Douby, a necromancer determined to conquer it. Accepting his request, the group ventures into the island’s dungeon — a treacherous labyrinth crawling with undead monsters. A new chapter of adventure begins for the cat-eared girl and her overprotective sword.

Episode 2 Synopsis — “Jean Douby Was Excellent”

Fran and her companions push deeper into the floating island’s dungeon, a place seething with malice and resentment. Their progress is steady as Fran acquires new skills — until they come face to face with an “Undead Eater” (死霊喰らい), an undead creature that preys on other undead. What fate awaits them?
