Story and Highlights
Seishun Buta Yarou wa Odekake Sister no Yume wo Minai is a 73-minute theatrical anime film released on June 23, 2023, adapted from the light novel series Seishun Buta Yarou by Hajime Kamoshida (Dengeki Bunko).
The story follows second-year high schooler Sakuta Azusagawa during his third semester, as the time he has left with his third-year girlfriend Mai Sakurajima grows short. His younger sister Kaede/Hanakae, who had long been shut in at home, confides that she wants to attend the same high school as her brother. Knowing how difficult that goal will be, Sakuta resolves to support her.
The film’s emotional core lies in Hanakae confronting real-world challenges — entrance exams and family bonds — alongside the series’ signature supernatural phenomenon, Adolescence Syndrome.
