About Berserk
Berserk is a dark fantasy manga series begun by Kentaro Miura in 1989, following the mercenary Guts as he battles through a brutal world of swords, sorcery, and monsters. After Miura’s passing in May 2021, the series resumed in June 2022 under the credits “Original work: Kentaro Miura / Art: Studio Gaga / Supervised by: Kouji Mori,” and continues to run irregularly in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine.
The series has been adapted into anime multiple times: a TV series in 1997 titled Sword Wind Chronicle Berserk, a theatrical trilogy covering the Golden Age Arc released between 2012 and 2013 under the Berserk: Saga Project banner, and another TV anime series in 2016.
