The upcoming theatrical film Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouki no Hihou (The Apothecary Diaries: Treasure of the Fallen Consort) has revealed its theme song: “Haru ga Tomori” by Yonezu Kenshi. Alongside the announcement, a full trailer featuring the song, the main key visual, and a character relationship chart have all been released.
“Haru ga Tomori” — A Song Born from Collaboration
“Haru ga Tomori” is an original composition written specifically for the film. Yonezu Kenshi crafted the track after meetings with original author Hinata Natsu and director Naganuma Norihiro. The trailer showcases the song alongside imagery of a treasure hidden within a water city at the heart of the film’s story.
Yonezu Kenshi shared the following comment about the song:
“In writing this piece, I read through the screenplay I was given, but I also drew reference from nursery rhymes — particularly ‘Tulip’ and ‘Antagata Dokosa,’ which had a significant influence on me. I believe that the inheritance that arises between people doesn’t necessarily require anyone’s approval or formal procedures; each person quietly settles into it and chooses it for themselves. This is a song called ‘Haru ga Tomori.’ I hope you enjoy it.”
Main Key Visual and Character Chart
The newly unveiled main key visual brings together the film’s principal cast of characters. It features a battered Maomao alongside Mu Qing, a steely-faced Jinshi gripping a sword, Ruo Qing and Yin Shan in a prayer-like pose, and lurking behind them all, the shadowy figures of the Huashe-dan — the group pulling strings behind the scenes. A full character relationship chart has also been made public.
