Fans of Natsume’s Book of Friends (夏目友人帳) now have a charming new way to show their love for the series. The 「夏目はんこ帳 遊印スタンプコレクション」 (Natsume Hanko-cho Yuuin Stamp Collection) is now on sale — a lineup of character stamps inspired by the classic Japanese hobby of yuuin, decorative personal seals with an old-fashioned, nostalgic appeal. The collection was conceived for stationery lovers who want to add a touch of personality to notebooks, letters, and more.
About the Series
Natsume’s Book of Friends is an ongoing manga by Yuki Midorikawa, serialized in Monthly LaLa. The story follows Takashi Natsume, a lonely boy with the ability to see yokai, who inherits the “Book of Friends” — a ledger of contracts made between yokai and his late grandmother, Reiko. With the self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei by his side, Natsume works to return the names recorded in the book to their rightful owners. The TV anime adaptation launched in 2008 and has run for six seasons.
18 Character Designs to Choose From
The collection offers 18 different character visuals, including:
- Nyanko-sensei — in a variety of expressions and poses
- Madara (斑) — Nyanko-sensei’s true form
- Takashi Natsume — the series protagonist
- Kaoru Tanuma — Natsume’s close friend
- Shuichi Natori and Seiji Matoba
- Yokai characters including Misuzu (三篠), mid-level yokai, and Hiiragi (柊)
Two Shape Options
Each design is available in either a round or square form factor:
- Round type: Features a sleek black body with built-in ink — classic and refined.
- Square type: Comes in a stylish purple finish with a one-touch flip-open cap for quick, repeated stamping. It also includes a ball chain so it can be attached to a bag or pouch as a portable stamp.
Whether you’re decorating a planner, sending handwritten letters, or simply adding to your collection, the Natsume Yuuin Stamp Collection is a must-see for any fan of the series.
