Fans of both anime and extreme obstacle-course competition have reason to celebrate: Neon Genesis Evangelion and TBS’s popular sports-entertainment program SASUKE have officially confirmed a collaboration. A special teaser visual has been released to mark the announcement.

The collaboration was announced during “Neon Genesis Evangelion All-Night Domino Plan,” a pre-night event held as part of TBS’s “Anime no Ba” event in the Akasaka district of Tokyo on November 7.

The SASUKE Logo Gets the Unit-01 Treatment

The teaser visual makes a striking first impression: the SASUKE program logo has been recolored in the signature purple-and-green palette of Evangelion Unit-01, with a silhouette of the iconic Eva unit looming behind it. The image blends the raw intensity of SASUKE’s obstacle course with the unmistakable aesthetic of the Evangelion franchise.

At the Akasaka Sacas plaza, one of the “Anime no Ba” venue locations, attendees can also find a massive Evangelion Unit-01 photo spot measuring over 6 meters wide. A limited quantity of “Collaboration Announcement Commemorative Stickers” is also being distributed at the spot.
