Singer adieu has been chosen to perform the new ending theme for Ascendance of a Bookworm (本好きの下剋上) Part 3. The CD single for the song will go on sale on July 29. A special Limited First Pressing edition will also include a Blu-ray featuring footage from the “adieu LIVE 2025 à la plume” concert held last September.
New Cast and Staff
Yuka Iguchi and Show Hayami return to their roles as Rozemyne, formerly Myne, and Ferdinand, respectively. This part also adds several new cast members, including:

- Kazuhiro Yamaji — Bonifatius
- Nao Tōyama — Angelica
- Asami Seto — Brigitte
- Katsumi Fukuhara — Zack
Behind the scenes, Yoshiaki Iwasaki, known for Kowloon Generic Romance, Hayate the Combat Butler, and We Never Learn: BOKUBEN, directs the new series at Wit Studio, replacing previous franchise director Mitsuru Hongō. Mariko Kunisawa continues to handle series scripts, while Aiko Minowa, who worked on in-between animation for After the Rain and The Ancient Magus’ Bride, steps in as the new character designer. MICHIRU remains in charge of the music.
Anime Theme Songs
The current opening theme is “Pages” by Little Glee Monster. The first ending theme is “Ima mo, Arigatō” (“Even Now, Thank You”) by former Nogizaka46 member Erika Ikuta.
Broadcast and Streaming
This part began airing on April 4 on Yomiuri TV and NTV at 5:30 p.m. Japan time. It is scheduled to run for two consecutive cours, lasting half a year. Crunchyroll streams the anime with English subtitles and an English dub.
Series Background
The first anime season premiered in October 2019 and ended in December of the same year with 14 episodes. The second season followed in April 2020, and the third aired in April 2022. Crunchyroll streamed all three seasons as they aired.
The original novel series by Kazuki began on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in 2013 and concluded as a web novel in 2017. You Shiina illustrates the print edition. The main series ended with volume 33, the 12th volume of Part 5, in December 2023. The series now has more than 13 million copies in circulation digitally and physically. J-Novel Club publishes the light novels and some manga versions in English.
