Fans of the Aikatsu! franchise have reason to celebrate: a brand-new merchandise collection featuring original illustrations of the “Aikatsu 8” cast has launched at a limited-time POP UP SHOP in Tokyo Character Street, open from July 17 to July 30, 2026. The goods are also available simultaneously through the Tokyo Character Street Online Plaza.
A Decade of Aikatsu!
The Aikatsu! series follows girls who pour their hearts into idol activities — or “aikatsu” — in pursuit of becoming top idols. It launched in 2012 with the Data Carddass arcade card game and a TV anime, and has since expanded into Aikatsu Stars!, Aikatsu Friends!, Aikatsu on Parade!, and Aikatsu Planet!. To mark the franchise’s 10th anniversary, the theatrical film Aikatsu! 10th STORY ～Mirai e no STARWAY～ was released in 2023.
Most recently, a revival screening of Gekijouban Aikatsu Stars! -Anniversary Stars- began on July 3, 2026, at around 70 cinemas across Japan. A special preview screened after the film revealed that a new movie, Aikatsu Stars! ～Hoshihoshi no Progress～, is set for theatrical release in early spring 2027.

The event showcases original-illustration goods spotlighting beloved characters including Hoshimiya Ichigo, Arisugawa Otome, Toudou Yurika, Otoshiro Seira, Kazesawa Sora, Himesato Maria, Kanzaki Mizuki, and Natsuki Mikuru.
