About the Story
Akane-banashi follows Akane Osaki, a young girl who falls in love with the traditional art of rakugo storytelling after watching her father Shinta Arakawa perform as a child. After witnessing the heartbreaking night her father’s career is cut short before he can reach the rank of shin’uchi, she grows into a determined high school student who vows to reach that rank herself — in the competitive world of rakugo.
