The Anime Expo 2026 staff revealed last Friday that the event will host the world premieres of two major anime titles:
- Black Torch – a TV anime adapted from the manga by Tsuyoshi Takaki
- Magic Knight Rayearth – a new anime based on the manga by CLAMP, with Rie Takahashi appearing as a guest
Studio Trigger to Reveal First Look at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2
Studio Trigger will also present the “official first reveal” of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 at this year’s Anime Expo, a long-awaited announcement for fans of the series.
Guests and Special Panels
Shohei Sakakibara, producer of Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE and known for Danganronpa 2×2 and Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid, and Kazutaka Kodaka, the well-known writer behind the Danganronpa series and Shuten Order, will attend as guests. Both will appear on the “Spike Chunsoft, Inc. Official Panel 2026” at 10:30 a.m. PDT on July 3.
Additional guests include Yuu Toyota, creator of the manga Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!, who will join a Square Enix Manga & Books panel, and Yuko Kanno, the composer who will appear on the STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure panel.
Special Screenings at the Event
Anime Expo also announced that it will screen the U.S. premiere of Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, a TV anime adapted from Tomato Soup’s manga A Witch’s Life in Mongol (Tenmaku no Jādūgar), on July 3 at 2:45 p.m. PDT in the JW Marriott Diamond Ballroom.
The event will also screen the U.S. premiere of the first two episodes of the TV anime adapted from Sparks of Tomorrow (20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku), a novel by Hiro Yuki, on the same day at 10:00 a.m. in the JW Marriott Platinum Ballroom.

Anime Expo 2026 will be held from July 2 to 5, 2026 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, United States.
