TBS is set to launch a brand-new anime special titled 「アニメの番組はじめました（仮）」 (Anime no Bangumi Hajimemashita, tentative title), airing late-night on August 18 and 25, 2026, from 24:24 to 24:53 JST. The broadcast is limited to the Kanto region.
A Show Built for Anime Fans
The program aims to answer everything anime fans across Japan want to watch, hear, and know right now. Hosting duties go to Toshiya Miyata of idol group Kis-My-Ft2, a well-known anime enthusiast, and Ryota Yamasato of comedy duo NanKai Candies, who has lent his voice to numerous anime productions as a guest cast member.
Live Coverage from Anime Expo 2026
One of the program’s main features is an on-the-ground report from Anime Expo 2026, one of the largest anime conventions in North America. The production team will survey the event’s atmosphere and present “Three Must-Know Points from Anime Expo 2026” for viewers at home.
Anna Nagase Joins as Studio Guest
Actress Anna Nagase — known for voicing Higashi in the anime Takopi no Genzai and Koyuki Hikawa in the TV anime Kōri no Jōheki — will appear as a studio guest. The conversation will take place against a set designed in the visual style of Takopi no Genzai, timed to coincide with the upcoming theatrical release of Takopi no Genzai: Arigatou, Mata Ashita.
New Episode of “Cinnamoroll & Yasuda Ken’s Yuru-Doki Cooking”
The special will also feature a new episode of 「シナモンと安田顕のゆるドキ☆クッキング」 (Cinnamoroll to Yasuda Ken no Yuru-Doki Cooking), a laid-back cooking show that ran on TBS for two years beginning in October 2023. Cinnamoroll and Yasuda Ken will casually introduce refreshing summer drinks and dishes.
