The Hollywood Creative Alliance (HCA), formerly known as the Hollywood Critics Association, officially announced the nominees for the Astra TV Awards 2026 this past Wednesday. In the Best Anime Series category, six anime titles received nominations:
- Dandelion
- MAO
- Rooster Fighter
- Sakamoto Days
- STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
- Witch Hat Atelier
English Voice Actors Also in the Running
In addition to the series category, English voice actors received nominations in Best Lead Voice Over Performance in a Series: Anjali Kunapaneni for the role of Coco in Witch Hat Atelier, and Patrick Seitz for the role of Keiji in Rooster Fighter.
Joshua Waters also received a nomination in Best Supporting Voice Over Performance in a Series for the role of Qifrey in Witch Hat Atelier.
Ceremony Set for August 15 in Los Angeles
The Astra TV Awards 2026 ceremony is scheduled for August 15 in Los Angeles, California.
The HCA presents awards across four suites: Astra Creative Arts Awards, Astra Film Awards, Astra Podcast Awards, and Astra TV Awards. The organization is composed of critics, journalists, actors, producers, writers, and industry professionals from a wide range of fields.
Looking Back at Previous Winners
At the 9th Astra Film Awards held last January, the film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle (Part One) took home the prestigious “Animation is Cinema” honor.
At the Astra TV Awards 2025 the previous year, Dragon Ball Daima won Best Anime Series, while Aleks Le received the Best Lead Voice-Over Performance award for the role of Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-.
