Fashion brand axes femme has unveiled a special collaboration collection with the animated film 『劇場版モノノ怪 第三章 蛇神』 (Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 – Serpent God), presenting clothing and accessories that translate the series’ vivid, mysterious aesthetic into a modern fashion sensibility.
About Mononoke
The Mononoke anime follows a mysterious man known only as the “Medicine Seller” who travels across the land to exorcise mononoke — malevolent spirits born from human resentment, attachment, and deep emotion. The series spun off from the “Bakeneko” arc in the 2006 anthology anime Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales and was subsequently developed into its own television series the following year.
In 2024, a theatrical trilogy titled 劇場版モノノ怪 began, set in the women’s inner chambers of the shogun’s palace (大奥). 劇場版モノノ怪 唐傘 opened in July 2024, 劇場版モノノ怪 第二章 火鼠 followed in March 2025, and the final chapter 劇場版モノノ怪 第三章 蛇神 is scheduled to open on May 29, 2026, with Kamiya Hiroshi reprising his role as the Medicine Seller.
