Bocchi the Rock! is getting a fresh wave of merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations of the main cast dressed in retro-style outfits. The new goods go on sale from August 15, 2026, with an accompanying fair at Animate stores across Japan launching on the same day.
About Bocchi the Rock!
Bocchi the Rock! is an anime adaptation of the four-panel manga by Hamaji Aki, serialized in Houbunsha’s “Manga Time Kirara MAX.” The story follows Goto Hitori, an extremely shy and introverted girl who joins the band Kessoku Band and grows alongside her bandmates Ijichi Nijika, Yamada Ryo, and Kita Ikuyo.
The first anime season aired in autumn 2022 and became a massive hit both domestically and internationally, winning numerous awards. On the music front, Kessoku Band’s full album “結束バンド” topped both the Oricon annual digital album chart and the Billboard JAPAN annual download album chart for 2023. A theatrical compilation film has since been released, and Season 2 is officially in production.
New Retro-Themed Goods
The new collection showcases all-new illustrations of five characters — Goto Hitori, Ijichi Nijika, Yamada Ryo, Kita Ikuyo, and Hiroi Kikuri — dressed in charming retro costumes. The lineup includes:

Animate Summer Fair 2026 ~Retro-Chic Girls~
Alongside the new merchandise, Animate stores nationwide and Animate Online Shop will host the “Bocchi the Rock! Summer Fair 2026 ~Retro-Chic Girls~” from August 15 to September 6, 2026.
During the fair, customers who purchase or pre-order Bocchi the Rock! goods worth 1,100 yen (tax included) per unit, or purchase/pre-order one item of books, CDs, Blu-rays, or DVDs (with a minimum deposit of 1,100 yen including tax), will receive a special bookmark as a bonus gift (5 designs available).
Special Exhibition at Animate Yokohama Vivre
In addition, Animate Yokohama Vivre will host a special exhibition featuring the new illustrations from August 15 to August 30, 2026. Fans in the Yokohama area won’t want to miss it.
