The official website for the Chainsmoker Cat (Japanese title: Yanineko) television anime, based on Nyan Nyan Factory‘s manga serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine, announced that the series will be distributed in two versions: an “Evil Dragon Unleashed” version that “respects the work’s directorial intent” on select episodes, and a standard “On-Air” version produced for terrestrial television broadcast.
The “Evil Dragon Unleashed” version will be available on the AT-X premium cable channel and on the streaming platforms AnimeFesta, DMM TV, Fuji TV On Demand, Hulu, Netflix, and Anime Times in Japan. AnimeFesta and Anime Times will carry both versions, while 16 other streaming services will offer only the “On-Air” version. The original manga is known for its toilet humor and gross-out comedy, which prompted the creation of the uncut edition.
Synopsis
Set in a world where humans, catgirls, and similar species coexist, the story follows Yani, a catgirl with a seriously bad smoking habit. Her apartment reeks of ash and is littered with cigarette butts and all manner of trash. Every time she tries to quit, she caves to her cravings almost instantly — leaving her fate as a chainsmoking slob very much in question.
