The staff for the TV anime based on Chainsmoker Cat (Yani Neko), the manga by Nyan Nyan Factory serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine, revealed the main promotional video, theme song artists, and additional staff members on Sunday.
Theme Songs
The main trailer previews the opening theme “Nanmonee” by the rock band Wasureranneyo. The ending theme is titled “Kemuri to Blue” (Smoke and Blue) by Necry Talkie.

Main Staff and Studio
The anime is produced by Bibury Animation Studio and directed by Taku Kimura of Studio Lemon, who previously worked on Kairyu to Yubinya-san and the Star Wars: Visions episode “Tatooine Rhapsody.” Scripts are written by Takashi Aoshima, known for works such as Himouto! Umaru-chan and The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You. Character designs are by Riki Matsuura, and the music is composed by Keiichi Suzuki, who worked on Saint Young Men and Tokyo Godfathers.

Synopsis
The story takes place in a world where humans and cat girls live together. It follows Yani, a cat girl who is heavily addicted to cigarettes. Her room is filled with cigarette butts and piles of trash, and every time she tries to quit smoking, she gives in to herself again and again. Will she ever be able to get her life in order?
Manga Information
The original manga is currently serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine. Volume 12 was released on May 20. The English edition from Seven Seas will release volume 3 on June 16.
