Fans of Chiikawa have plenty of new merchandise to look forward to. The beloved franchise has announced several new products: a ramune candy case shaped like the iconic “sasumata stick” from the “Magical Chiikawa” theme, a set of pile crew socks, and a 2027 desk calendar. The candy case and socks are already on sale, while the calendar goes on sale from October 9.
About Chiikawa
Chiikawa is a manga created by illustrator Nagano, originally serialized on X (formerly Twitter) starting in 2020. The series follows the charming and sometimes bittersweet daily lives of characters including Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi. Its popularity has transcended age groups, earning it a Hall of Fame spot at the Japan Character Award Grand Prix.
The anime, which began airing in 2022, has surpassed 500 million views on YouTube. The franchise’s first feature film, Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island — adapting the fan-favorite “Siren Arc” — is currently in theaters and had already grossed 16.86 billion yen as of September 27.
