Chiikawa fans, get ready! A special collaboration event between Chiikawa and Tokyo Skytree, titled 「ちいかわ★星ふるスカイツリーとひみつの島」 (Chiikawa ★ Hoshifuru Skytree to Himitsu no Shima), has been officially announced and will run from July 10 to October 31, 2026.
What Is Chiikawa?
Chiikawa is a manga series illustrated by Nagano, which began as posts on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. The story follows Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and other adorable characters navigating a life full of exciting and sometimes surprisingly frightening days — winning the hearts of readers of all ages. The series has even won the Grand Prize of the Japan Character Award three times.
The anime, airing since 2022, has been a massive success, accumulating over 400 million views on YouTube and building a fanbase that extends far beyond Japan.
The First Chiikawa Film
This event is being held to celebrate the theatrical release of 『映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ』 (Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu), the first-ever Chiikawa feature film, adapted from the beloved “Siren” arc — one of the most popular storylines in the series. It is scheduled to open in theaters on July 24, 2026.
