To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic super robot anime Chōdenji Robo Combattler V (超電磁ロボ コン・バトラーV), Toei has announced a special broadcast on TOKYO MX, free limited-time streams on YouTube, and the release of a commemorative Blu-ray BOX.
About Combattler V
Originally airing from April 17, 1976 through May 1977, Combattler V follows five Battle Machines that combine into a giant robot to battle an alien threat. Beyond its mecha action, the series was notable for giving dramatic depth to both the hero side — led by protagonist Aoi Hyōma — and the antagonist Campbellians, conveying themes of the horrors of war and the importance of mutual trust.
