The official website for the film Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon (roughly: Supernatural Crisis! My Yokai Vacation), the 33rd 2D animated theatrical entry in the Crayon Shin-chan series, has announced seven additional voice cast members.
New Cast Members
- Yuki Kaji as Hyakuemon, a cunning and mysterious yokai
- Aya Endo as Mameta, a tanuki who helps Shin-chan and becomes curious about the human world
- Hiro Shimono as Karakura, a suspicious yokai who keeps a watchful eye on humans
- Inori Minase as Pinko, a powerful amanojaku yokai with a gentle heart
- Shunsuke Sakuya as Kumada no Osa, the chief of the yokai realm and the political leader of Naka Yōkaijō
- Mikako Komatsu as Tsuchiko, a yokai infatuated with Hyakuemon
- Setsuju Sato as Kapparapa Taichō, the head of the organization that maintains order in the yokai realm
Story
The film revolves around the “yokai realm,” as the Nohara family travels to Hiroshi’s hometown in Aichi Prefecture to take part in the famous summer fireworks festival. Unexpectedly, a series of events causes yokai to spill out from their realm, throwing both Aichi and the rest of Japan into chaos. The Nohara family must venture into the yokai realm — a place steeped in mystery yet bound by its own nostalgic warmth — to resolve the crisis in a way no one could have predicted.
Cast and Staff
It was previously announced that Sairi Ito would voice Yako, a cunning kitsune yokai, while Sakamoto Moto from the comedy duo Mayurika would voice a bear yokai, a first-base player for the Edomae Sushies baseball team, and Shin-chan’s friends, among others.
Series regulars including Yumiko Kobayashi, Miki Narahashi, Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Satomi Korogi also appear in the film.
The film is directed by Masaki Watanabe, whose previous credits include Battle Spirits: Heroes and Sakamoto Days. The screenplay is written by Yoshiko Nakamura, known for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- and PriPara. The film is produced by Shinei Animation, TV Asahi, ADK Emotions, and Futabasha, with TOHO as distributor.
Release Date and Additional Information
The 33rd film is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on July 31, 2026.
For reference, the previous installment Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Cho Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers (the 32nd film) opened on August 8, 2025, and earned over 633 million yen (approximately $4.33 million USD) in its opening four days.
For the record, the Crayon Shin-chan TV anime series first aired in April 1992 and continues to broadcast every Saturday at 16:30 JST on TV Asahi.
