To mark the nationwide release of Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikkai! Ora no Youkai Bake-shon on 31 July, the Japanese anime news site Anime! Anime! ran a reader poll asking: “What is your favourite Crayon Shin-chan film?”
About the Survey
The poll ran from 11 to 17 July and collected responses from 327 readers. The gender split was approximately 45% male and 55% female. By age group, roughly 25% of respondents were 19 or younger, around 20% were in their twenties, and about 30% — the largest single group — were in their thirties.
A Series Built on Laughter and Tears
The Crayon Shin-chan film series launched in 1993 with Action Kamen VS Haigure Maou and has released a new entry every year since. The films range from raucous adventures featuring the Nohara family and the Kasukabe Defence Force to deeply emotional stories about family bonds and friendship, giving fans of every generation a personal favourite.

The film that topped the poll is widely considered the masterpiece of the entire series. Voters praised it for delivering both genuine laughs and heartfelt tears, resonating with fans across all age groups.
Beyond the top three, the full Top 10 ranking was also revealed alongside a selection of reader comments, underscoring just how many beloved films the Crayon Shin-chan franchise has produced across more than three decades.
