Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikai! Ora no Yokai Vacation, the 33rd entry in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan film series, has surpassed 2.7 billion yen at the Japanese box office within just 45 days of its release — setting an all-time earnings record for the franchise.
To mark the milestone, director Watanabe Masaki released a specially drawn illustration depicting the Nohara family enjoying sparklers together on a summer night, capturing the warm, nostalgic mood at the heart of the film.
Voice Actress Kobayashi Yumiko Shares Her Gratitude
Kobayashi Yumiko, the voice of Shinnosuke, expressed her heartfelt thanks to fans, saying she was overjoyed that so many people had joined Shinnosuke and the gang on their trip to “Grandpa’s house in Akita.” She noted that the record belongs equally to long-time fans and those who discovered the series for the first time this year, crediting everyone for making this summer so special.
She also extended an open invitation: “Even in September, the Nohara family’s summer isn’t over yet! Whether you haven’t seen it yet or want to watch it again, please come enjoy the Yokai Vacation with Shinnosuke at your local cinema!”
About the Film
The film opened on July 31, 2026, based on the original manga by Usui Yoshito (currently serialized as Manga Crayon Shin-chan.com by Futabasha). The story begins when a mysterious incident causes yokai to escape from the “Land of Yokai,” sending them on a rampage across Japan — from Akita Prefecture, where the Nohara family is heading to visit relatives, to their hometown of Kasukabe. When the Noharas find themselves lost in the Land of Yokai, a wild adventure through a world that feels both strangely familiar and utterly bizarre begins.
