The upcoming film 「映画クレヨンしんちゃん 奇々怪々！オラの妖怪バケ〜ション」 (Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Kiki Kaikkai! Ora no Yokai Bake-shon), the 33rd entry in the Crayon Shin-chan theatrical film series, has officially announced its additional voice cast, featuring Kaji Yuki, Endo Aya, Shimono Hiro, Minase Inori, Sakino Shunsuke, Komatsu Mikako, and Sato Setsuji.

Story and Characters

In this installment, the Nohara family travels back to Hiroshi’s hometown of Kasukabe in Akita Prefecture, only to stumble into the realm of yokai (supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore) and face an ever-greater series of dangers.

• Kaji Yuki — plays Hayakuemon, a cunning and mysterious yokai
• Endo Aya — plays Mamota, a raccoon-dog yokai who develops an interest in humans after being helped by Shin-chan
• Shimono Hiro — plays Karaso, a crow-like yokai who is wary of humans
• Minase Inori — plays Pingoko, a powerful but gentle-hearted amazon yokai
• Sakino Shunsuke — plays Kumada no Oza, the supreme ruler of the yokai realm, residing in Nanko Yokai Castle
• Komatsu Mikako — plays Sujiko, a yokai who serves Kumada no Oza and is connected to Hayakuemon
• Sato Setsuji — plays Captain Kappara-Taiko, a turtle captain who maintains order in the yokai realm

Kaji Yuki (Hayakuemon)

Appearing in a Crayon Shin-chan film is a dream that many voice actors share — myself included. I’m truly thrilled to have been given this opportunity. In an age where everything is digital, the sense of something intangible, something you can’t quite catch like a yokai, may be fading away. I hope this film makes everyone feel that yokai are close, warm, and fun — that Shin-chan really does save the world with his spirit! I want to take my daughter to see it in theaters.

Endo Aya (Mamota)

Mamota is a raccoon-dog yokai with leaves on her head who is a little timid but loves her hometown and friends just like Shin-chan. My favorite scene is when Mamota meets Shin-chan for the first time. I invite everyone to experience this strange and new adventure at the cinema!

Shimono Hiro (Karaso)

Another dream has come true! I’ve always watched the Crayon Shin-chan films, and I was even given a yokai role which is a favorite theme of mine. I can’t wait to see what Shin-chan and his friends get up to during this summer vacation!

Minase Inori (Pingoko)

Reading the script was exciting, emotional, and brought me to tears. Pingoko is a powerful amazon yokai — humans and yokai may be different species, but their hearts are alike. Please watch each character grow through their encounters with Shin-chan. This year’s film will make you want to go home and cherish precious memories.

Sakino Shunsuke (Kumada no Oza)

Rain, rumbling thunder, costumes, creepy crawlies, swirling vines, the smell of grass, fireflies, scattered petals, smoke, flowers, and spooky stories… A summer atmosphere that feels like something is lurking nearby, but isn’t frightening at all. See you at the cinema!

Komatsu Mikako (Sujiko)

I’ve watched Crayon Shin-chan since I was a child, and now that I’m a mother myself, I’ve come to understand Misae’s perspective even more. Sujiko is a very unique yokai, and I had a great time voicing her this time around — and there’s even a scene that moved me as a viewer!

Sato Setsuji (Captain Kappara-Taiko)

The character name alone sounds fun (laughs). The entire cast performed so brilliantly that I almost believed they were real yokai! This film made me laugh, cry, and feel nostalgic for my own childhood. Please come see it in theaters!
