Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X magazine announced in its September issue that manga artist Crystal na Yōsuke — best known for Osake wa Fūfu ni Natte kara (Love Is Like a Cocktail) — will launch a brand-new series in the magazine’s next issue, hitting shelves on September 18.
New Series: Tokoro de Machi Chūka wa Date ni Irimasu ka?
The new manga is titled Tokoro de Machi Chūka wa Date ni Irimasu ka? (By the Way, Is the Local Chinese Restaurant a Date Spot?). The story centers on a love triangle involving a girl with a passion for binge-eating, a salaryman working at a food company, and a food blogger who live-streams his culinary adventures.
Previous Works
Yōsuke most recently concluded the manga Bonnō☆Saiyūki with its 13th volume on January 19. That series had been running in Shogakukan’s Sunday GX magazine since February 2020.
Earlier, Yōsuke launched Osake wa Fūfu ni Natte kara on Shogakukan’s free manga website Yawaraka Spirits in 2015, wrapping it up with its 12th volume in September 2019.
Love Is Like a Cocktail Anime
The Osake wa Fūfu ni Natte kara manga was adapted into a series of 13 anime shorts, which premiered in October 2017. Crunchyroll streamed the series internationally under the title Love is Like a Cocktail. A Blu-ray release in Japan in November 2018 included a previously unaired 14th episode as a bonus.
