Key Visual Anime Daemons of the Shadow Realm คูร์ที่ 2

The staff behind the television anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa‘s manga Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai) revealed the main promotional video, key visual, and theme song artists for the series’ second cours on Sunday. The second cours is set to premiere on July 4.

Second-Cours Theme Songs

Masanori Otoda performs the opening theme “back shot”, which is previewed in the newly released promotional video. Kei Sugawara performs the ending theme “Kujaku” (Peacock).

For the first cours, Vaundy performed the opening theme “Tobu Toki” (Time to Fly) and singer yama performed the ending theme “Tobō yo” (Let’s Fly).

Story

In a remote mountain village watched over by two stone guardians, a young boy named Yuru lives a simple life alongside his only remaining family — his twin sister Asa. But Asa is kept locked in a cage while carrying out a mysterious “duty” for the village. Why is she a prisoner, and what other secrets lie hidden in this seemingly peaceful home?

Staff

Masahiro Andō (Sword of the Stranger) is directing the anime at Bones Film. Noboru Takagi (Kingdom seasons 3–6, Golden Kamuy first four seasons) is handling series composition, while Nobuhiro Arai (Bungo Stray Dogs) serves as character designer and chief animation director. Kenichiro Suehiro, known for the Golden Kamuy and Re:ZERO franchises, is composing the score.

Broadcast & Streaming

The first cours began airing on April 4 on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and several other regional channels across Japan. Crunchyroll is streaming the series and offering a same-day English dub.

About the Manga

Arakawa, creator of Fullmetal Alchemist and Silver Spoon, launched the manga in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in December 2021. Square Enix Manga & Books publishes the English edition, and the 13th compiled volume is scheduled for release on July 10.
