Streaming platform Darkroom has added the anime Hare+Guu Deluxe to its catalog, now available with an English dub for premium subscribers.
Darkroom has also listed the anime Hare+Guu FINAL, complete with the original Japanese audio. However, as of this writing, no episodes of that title are available to watch yet.
About the Series
The Hare+Guu anime is adapted from the manga Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu by Renjuro Kindaichi, which first began publication in 1996. The story follows Hare, a boy living deep in the jungle with his mother, until a mysterious girl named Guu moves in with them and sets off a string of bizarre and outrageous misadventures.
The original manga was adapted into a TV anime series as well as two additional OVA installments: Hare+Guu Deluxe and Hare+Guu FINAL. In the past, AN Entertainment had held the distribution rights to both the TV anime and Hare+Guu Deluxe in the North American market.
Kindaichi’s Latest Work
Kindaichi is currently serializing the manga Yuube wa Otanoshimi Deshita ne in Gangan Online magazine. Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service brought the title to international audiences in December 2023 under the English name Rooming with a Gamer Gal.
