Deaf Crocodile has announced it will release the anime Frankenstein: Legend of Terror with a brand-new 4K restoration. It will be one of 12 titles offered under a 6-month subscription plan running from July through December, marking the 10th announcement under this plan. Most of the titles announced previously are not anime.
About the Film
This 98-minute special anime is adapted from two sources: the classic Frankenstein novel by Mary Shelley and Marvel’s comic Monster of Frankenstein. It originally premiered in Japan in July 1981.
Staff and Distribution
The film was directed by Yugo Serikawa (Serikawa Yugo), previously known for directing Cyborg 009. It was produced at Toei Animation studios and released in 1984. The film received a US distribution with an English dub.
