เซ็นอิตสึใช้ท่า霹靂一閃六連 ในAnimeดาบพิฆาตอสูร ตอนที่ 17

The full-series rerun of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba aired episode 17, “Master One Thing to Perfection”, on August 2, 2026. Fans have long regarded this installment as one of the series’ finest, with comments like “This is the episode that made me fall in love with Zenitsu” and “This is what got me hooked on Demon Slayer” flooding social media after the broadcast.

Episode 17 Recap: Zenitsu on Natagumo Mountain

While Tanjiro tends to a badly wounded Inosuke after defeating the Spider Mother, he wonders about the strange nature of Natagumo Mountain — a place where demons, who normally never form groups, are living as a family. Meanwhile, Zenitsu is wandering lost with Chuntaro when he feels a small prick. He brushes it off — until he turns around and comes face-to-face with a human-faced spider, sending him screaming at full sprint before the opening theme “Gurenge” even begins. Fans online erupted: “Zenitsu’s scream is here!” and “He’s already being loud this early in the morning lol.”

Even as he runs in terror, Zenitsu wishes it were all a dream — ideally one he’d wake up from with his head on Nezuko’s lap. Fans appreciated his honesty: “He complains a lot but he’s a good guy.” Zenitsu is voiced by Shimono Hiro, known for Dabi in My Hero Academia and Connie Springer in Attack on Titan. The official Demon Slayer account shared his comment for this episode: “Both Zenitsu’s comedic and serious sides are on display here, and we finally understand what drove this crybaby to join the Demon Slayer Corps.”

The Spider Demon (Elder Brother) and His Pocket Watch

When Zenitsu stops running, he finds people suspended from spider threads — and then the Spider Demon (Elder Brother) appears, informing him that he will become a spider. He even produces a pocket watch to explain exactly when the transformation will complete. Fans couldn’t help laughing: “He explains everything so carefully,” “Teaching him how to read a clock,” and “Why does a spider demon have such a stylish pocket watch?” The Elder Brother is voiced by Morikubo Shotaro, known for Shigeno Goro in Major and Makishima Yusuke in Yowamushi Pedal. Fans agreed: “His voice is way too cool for how creepy he looks” and “No one else could have voiced this role.”

“I Want to Change. I Want to Become a Proper Person.”

Facing his imminent transformation, Zenitsu recalls his master (Jii-chan). Once drowning in debt after being swindled by a woman he loved, Zenitsu was taken in by his master — a former Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps. Despite Zenitsu’s poor progress and repeated attempts to flee, his master never gave up on him. During one escape attempt, Zenitsu climbed a tree and was struck by lightning, turning his hair from black to gold.

Zenitsu’s inner monologue — “I always tell myself I have to do better, but I get scared, I run, I cry. I want to change. I want to become a proper person” — resonated deeply with viewers: “I really relate to Zenitsu’s feelings here” and “His story with Jii-chan hits different every time.”

“If You Can Only Do One Thing, Master It to Perfection”

Falling from the tree, Zenitsu unleashes Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash — again and again. The Spider Demon (Elder Brother) notes that he only knows one technique. But Zenitsu’s master had told him: “That’s fine. One is more than enough. If you can only do one thing, master it to perfection.” He compared it to forging a sword — striking it repeatedly drives out impurities and creates a stronger, purer blade. “You can cry. You can run. But never give up. Endure the hellish training and you will be rewarded. Become the strongest blade of all!”

Zenitsu ultimately defeats the Spider Demon (Elder Brother) with Thunderclap and Flash: Sixfold, though his body is ravaged by poison. Fans were overwhelmed: “I cry every time I watch Zenitsu and Jii-chan,” “Watching this again connects to Zenitsu in the movie — I was sobbing from the morning,” and “Thunderclap and Flash Sixfold is HERE — still gives me goosebumps every single time.”

Jii-chan Voiced by Chiba Shigeru

The role of Zenitsu’s master — a former Pillar — is played by veteran voice actor Chiba Shigeru, celebrated for iconic roles including Megane in Urusei Yatsura, Ichido Rei in High School! Kimengumi, Shiba Shigeo in Patlabor, and Captain Buggy in ONE PIECE. He commented: “Everyone has at least one thing they are good at or love — a small seed that holds the talent given to them. Zenitsu was that kind of child. Zenitsu, you are my pride.”

What’s Next

Back on the mountain, Tanjiro hears what sounds like a thunderclap and moves to investigate, suggesting the injured Inosuke head down — a suggestion Inosuke flatly refuses. A demon resembling a young girl then appears, followed by a hulking figure called “Father” who immediately attacks. Episode 18, “Fake Family Bonds”, has fans buzzing with anticipation for the return of the beloved “Dice Steak Senpai.”

The full-series rerun began on April 5, just before the seventh anniversary of the anime’s original premiere on April 6, 2019. Demon Slayer is animated by ufotable and based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, which has surpassed 220 million copies in circulation. The theatrical film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc, Chapter One: Akaza Returns opened in Japanese cinemas on July 18, 2025.
