Anime fans, get excited! The official websites of Detective Conan (Meitantei Conan) and Star Detective Precure! jointly announced last Sunday that both series will feature special crossover episodes — with each series airing its crossover installment during May and June respectively.
Star Detective Precure! Episode 18 — Detectives Assemble
The first crossover episode will appear in Star Detective Precure! as episode 18, titled “Meitantei no Assemble” (The Great Detectives Assemble), set to air on May 31.
The story begins when a piece of artwork being prepared for display at a museum exhibition is stolen. Annabel and Mikuru set out to track down the culprit, and by chance encounter Conan Edogawa, Ran Mori, and Kogoro Mori, who are visiting the city of Makoto. Both sides meet and join forces to take on the mysterious crime.
Detective Conan Special Episode — Side by Side with Cure Answer
The Detective Conan crossover episode, titled “Hanamaru na Answer” (A Blooming Answer), will air on June 6, featuring Cure Answer from Star Detective Precure! as a guest.
The story unfolds when the city of Beika is hit by a series of gemstone thefts in succession. Ayumi is especially excited, as the events remind her of the Precure anime she adores, and she dreams of meeting the real Precure. When news spreads that the thieves’ next target is a jewelry store, Conan and the “Junior Detective League” are assigned to keep watch. Although they manage to catch the culprit, Ayumi afterward begins to feel a nagging unease.
Additional Information About Both Series
Star Detective Precure! first aired on February 1 on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and affiliated networks at 8:30 a.m. Japan Standard Time. International viewers can watch it via Crunchyroll, which covers North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the CIS.
Detective Conan has been on air since 1996 and this year is celebrating its 30th anniversary — a remarkable milestone. Crunchyroll simulcasts the series as well.
