Kadokawa announced last Friday that the manga The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom (หมอแปลกแห่งอาณาจักรดอกไม้จันทร์), by Toru Himuka, has been greenlit for a TV anime adaptation. Himuka also drew a special illustration to celebrate the announcement.
Production Staff
The anime is being produced by Studio Elle under the direction of Koichiro Kuroda, who previously directed episodes of the Detective Conan and Yowamushi Pedal New Generation series. Series composition is handled by Risa Mizuno, with voice direction by Aki Mizuki, whose credits include Arknights: Perish in Frost and Sylvanian Families: Mini Story.
Character design is in the hands of Akira Ono, known as the main character designer for My Awkward Senpai. Sound direction is by Hozumi Goda, and the score is composed by Chiho Terada, a veteran of multiple Precure series as well as Leviathan: The Last Defense and the 2026 Magic Knight Rayearth project, with Highway Star handling music production.

Story Summary
In the Moon Flower Kingdom, the Royal Herbal Clinic is struggling to build its reputation in medicine and wound treatment. One day, while the crown prince Keun is on an official inspection of the region, he witnesses a farm girl named Koyo perform a remarkable “surgery to close a wound.” The story then unfolds into a web of scheming, intrigue, and deep-rooted court customs — with Koyo and Keun having to navigate obstacles together in the style of a Chinese imperial court fantasy.
About the Manga
Himuka began serializing this manga in Kadokawa’s Asuka magazine in 2018; volume 15 of the Japanese edition goes on sale on May 22. The English-language rights are held by Seven Seas, which will release volume 13 on June 23.
