The production team behind Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Detective Precure the Movie: The Mysterious Garden and Two Secrets) has unveiled a new set of stills along with two fresh trailers — “KimiPri & WanPuri Hen” and “Kore zo Meitantei! Hen” — ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on September 18, 2026. Voice actors from previous Precure series have also shared heartfelt comments about returning to their roles.
Series Background & Story
Meitantei Precure! is the 23rd entry in the long-running Precure franchise. The story follows Akechi Anna, who on the eve of her birthday in 2027 encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is swept back in time to 1999 by a mysterious light. There she meets Kobayashi Mikuru, an aspiring detective, and the self-proclaimed genius fairy Jet-senpai. Together they establish the Kyuatto Detective Agency and transform into the Meitantei Precure to recover stolen treasures from the phantom thief gang Phantom.
In the film, a rash of “X-mark incidents” plagues the city — anything stamped with the mark stops working or becomes unusable. While Anna and her team investigate, a fairy client named Rain appears and begs them to protect a girl called Karin from a mysterious entity known as Dame-Dame. Rain leads them to a breathtakingly beautiful place called “Karin’s Garden,” where they meet Karin and her guardian fairy Alan. But peace is short-lived when Dame-Dame invades the garden. What secrets does this mysterious place hold?
Joining the Meitantei Precure team are heroines from Kimi to Idol Precure♪ (KimiPri) and Wonderful Precure! (WanPuri), bringing the total Precure count in the film to 13.
New Stills & Trailers
The newly released still image shows the KimiPri and WanPuri Precures assembled together, with the looming silhouette of Dame-Dame dominating the background — an imposing presence that sets the stakes for the film.
- “KimiPri & WanPuri Hen” trailer — Showcases Cure Idol from KimiPri and Cure Wonderful from WanPuri alongside a parade of past-generation Precures.
- “Kore zo Meitantei! Hen” trailer — Focuses on the Meitantei Precure team: Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, Cure Éclair, and Cure Arcana. Anna’s rallying cry — “We’re not giving up!” — stands out as the trailer’s emotional highlight.
Cast Comments — KimiPri
Matsuoka Misato — Cure Idol / Sakura Uta
When she heard she’d be appearing in the film, Matsuoka’s first thought was “Finally, the moment has come!” She recalled recording last year’s KimiPri film alongside veteran Precure actors and being moved by their dependability and cool presence. Now stepping into the role of senior Precure herself, she felt a renewed sense of responsibility. “The interactions between the TanPri, KimiPri, and WanPuri teams are incredibly exciting — please come see it in theaters!”
Takahashi Minami — Cure Wink / Aokaze Nana
Takahashi was thrilled to be cast and said reading the script felt like someone gently speaking to a lonely corner of her heart. Having passed the baton at last year’s Graduation Concert, she was looking forward to reuniting with the Meitantei Precure cast. “I hope this film reaches the hearts of many,” she said.
Takamori Natsumi — Cure KyunKyun / Shiau Kokoro
Takamori was overjoyed to return as Kokoro and Cure KyunKyun. Having seen how reliable the HiroPri and WanPuri Precures were as seniors in the KimiPri film, she was eager to see how KimiPri would carry that mantle — and especially curious about the dynamic between the KimiPri and TanPri teams.
Nanjou Yoshino — Cure ZukiYun / Purirun
Nanjou said transforming together as a group of five again was deeply moving — she even teared up while rehearsing at home, overwhelmed by memories of the previous year. When she mentioned it to her castmates, she found they all felt the same way. “I poured my heart into every scene and every line,” she said, urging fans to cheer them on in theaters.
Hanai Miharu — Cure Kiss / Meloron
Hanai was thrilled by the news and said reading the script made it feel as though the KimiPri team had never left. Though she was nervous during recording, the TanPri cast welcomed her warmly and the familiar atmosphere returned quickly. She described the film as packed with special content you won’t find anywhere else, and encouraged viewers to look for the hidden clues woven into the story.
Cast Comments — WanPuri
Naganawa Maria — Cure Wonderful / Inukai Komugi
Naganawa said she was so excited to reunite with the WanPuri team that she felt herself becoming Komugi even before leaving the house. During recording, the team’s calm, gentle energy was exactly as she remembered. “That atmosphere comes through in the film too,” she said. “Please come to the theater to meet Cure Wonderful!”
Tanezaki Atsumi — Cure Friendly / Inukai Iroha
Tanezaki noted that Dame-Dame — the film’s central threat — is something many people can personally relate to, herself included. She’s looking forward to audiences seeing how the Meitantei Precure respond to it. “Seeing Komugi and the others just as they always were was truly wonderful,” she added.
Matsuda Satsumi — Cure Nyamy / Nekoyashiki Yuki
Matsuda said the film balances the warm, Precure-style message of “there are things we can do because we’re together” with the satisfying click of puzzle pieces falling into place. Yuki, true to form, brings her laid-back cat energy to the story. “Come to the theater and find your favorite scene,” she said.
Ueda Reina — Cure Lilian / Nekoyashiki Mayu
Ueda said both she and Mayu found much to personally connect with in the story, and she was careful to honor every word she spoke. She enjoyed the warm atmosphere of the WanPuri team throughout recording and hopes that “wonderful” feeling reaches everyone who watches the film.
