Fate/Grand Order Fes. 2026 — Chaldea Gakuensai: 11th Anniversary, the celebration event for the smartphone game Fate/Grand Order (FGO), opened at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on August 1–2. Here are the highlights from day one.
A School Festival Come to Life
FGO officially turned 11 on July 30. The venue was dressed up in school-festival style, complete with a gate-like welcome area. The eye-catching centerpiece was the “Manwaka Slider” — a giant slide featuring the heroine, Mash, and Saber from Riyo’s manga Manga de Wakaru! Fate/Grand Order. Lines formed immediately after opening. Throughout the venue, newly drawn Servant panels by artists including TAa, Hiroyama Hiroshi, Moriyama Daisuke, Shirane, Okazaki Takeshi, Kurohoshi Kohaku, and Mochizuki Kei were on display, each triggering a newly recorded voice line when approached.
Experiential attractions included a haunted house guided by Jofuku, the “Eireikissa Caldea” café with Servant voice lines, and the “Chaldea Student Council” Live2D binaural experience featuring popular characters like Morgan and the Count of Monte Cristo. A sports mini-game zone, a cultural club area, and a real escape game rounded out the offerings.
Staff Talk: New Swimsuit Servants and Spirit Origins Revealed
The staff talk stage featured behind-the-scenes stories on “Shinmen Musashinokami Fujiwara no Genshin,” with character designer Koyama Hirokazu confirming two facial expression patterns were created. A storyboard for the WIT STUDIO-produced CM for the “Caldean Floralia” event was shown, along with a new anime CM by A-1 Pictures.
The annual swimsuit event announcement drew the loudest cheers. New Spirit Origin costumes (霊衣) were revealed for Hassan of the Serenity Star (designed by Task Ohna), Bedivere (designed by Tenkuu Sphia), and Dante Alighieri (designed by Shirahama Kamome). The free distribution Servant is Habetrot (designed by Hirai Yukio), while the limited Servant is Lilith (designed by nipi). King Protea (designed by Wada Arco) caused an uproar with just the sound of her footsteps before her illustration appeared. The session closed with Beni Emma (designed by Harada Takehito) being revealed as an SSR rarity — triggering a wave of surprised exclamations from the crowd.
Yuki Aoi’s Dual Performance: Gudaguda Dramalogue Special
The final stage of day one, “FGO Gudaguda DRAMALOGUE Special ~Live mo Aru yo!~”, revisited the “Gudaguda” limited event series through dramatic readings and CM songs.
The show opened with Gudaguda Honnoji, featuring Yuki Aoi as Okita Souji. Gudaguda Meiji Ishin followed with Hoshino Takanori as Hijikata Toshizo, whose deep, commanding voice brought tension to the hall — punctuated by the series’ trademark comedy. Kase Yasuyuki (Sakamoto Ryoma) and Yoshino Hiroyuki (Okada Izo) joined for Gudaguda Teito Seihai Kitan.
The standout moment came when Yuki Aoi performed both Okita Souji and Okita Souji [Alter] in the same segment. In a scene where the two cross swords, she seamlessly shifted between their contrasting personalities. The sequence concluded with Alter shedding tears, leaving the audience visibly moved.
Live performances punctuated the readings: Rikka opened with “二者穿一,” Noran performed “参全世界,” and KOCHO sang “明鏡肆水.” Later, Tetsu Yamamoto delivered “伍越同舟,” Spiral Ladder feat. Rikka performed “陸劫輪廻,” and 310 joined for “七星神威 feat. 310.”
The event climaxed with the latest entry, Bakumatsu Chambara Shinwa — Gudaguda Shinsengumi: The End — Revenge of Makoto. Shiraishi Haruka (Kawakami Gensai) and Niigaki Tarusuke (Kondo Isami) completed the Shinsengumi lineup, and the scene where all members unleash their Noble Phantasms together electrified the crowd. The show closed with Spiral Ladder’s “Reson8te feat. Rikka” and a final exchange between Okita and Nobunaga.
