The TV anime Flaming Dodgeball Girl Danko, based on Tetsuhiro Koshita‘s manga Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko, has revealed two additional cast members through its second episode, which aired on Monday.
New Cast Members
- Noriko Hidaka as Misato Ichigeki, Danko’s mother
- Misato Fukuen as Haruka Ichigeki, Danko’s grandmother
Notably, Noriko Hidaka previously voiced Danpei Ichigeki in the earlier Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei anime. She reprises that role for flashback scenes in the new series and also serves as its narrator.
Story
While the original Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei manga followed Danpei as its protagonist, the sequel Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko centers on his daughter Danko and her quest to build the strongest dodgeball team in the Reiwa era.

Manga Background
Koshita serialized the original Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei in Shogakukan’s Monthly CoroCoro Comic from 1989 to 1995, spanning 18 volumes. An anime adaptation by Animation 21 aired from 1991 to 1992 for 47 episodes.
The sequel manga Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko launched on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website in November 2022, with Shogakukan releasing the sixth compiled volume in August 2025. The anime premiered in Japan on July 6.
